Death

Death has been considered the leading theme of Hamlet by many eminent critics over time. G. Wilson Knight, for instance, writes at length about death inside play: "Death is over the whole play. Polonius and Ophelia die through the action, and Ophelia is hidden before our eyes. Hamlet arranges your deaths of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. The plot is set in place by the murder of Hamlet's dad, and the play opens with all the apparition of the Ghost. " And so forth and so forth. The play is very death-obsessed, as is Hamlet themselves. As as A. C. Bradley has described, in his very first long speech with the play, "Oh that this also solid flesh, " Hamlet seems around the verge of total despair, kept from suicide because of the simple fact of spiritual amazement. He is in the unusual position of both wishing pertaining to death and fearing it intensely, and this double pressure gives the play much of its drama.

One of the aspects connected with death which Hamlet finds nearly all fascinating is its bodily facticity. We're, in the end, so much meat and bone. This unusual intellectual being, which Hamlet beliefs so highly and possesses and so mightily, is but tenuously attached to an unruly and decomposing equipment. In the graveyard scene, specifically, we can see Hamlet's fascination with dead bodies. How can Yorick's skull be Yorick's skull? Does a sheet of dead earth, a skull, really have a connection to a person, a personality?

Hamlet is unprecedented for that depth and variety of their meditations on death. Mortality may be the shadow that darkens every scene with the play. Not that the perform resolves anything, or settles any one our species-old doubts and concerns. As with most things, you can expect to find very hard and stimulating questions in Hamlet, but hardly any satisfying answers.
Intrigue

Elsinore is rich in political intrigue. The murder connected with Old Hamlet, of course, may be the primary instance of such sinister workings, but it is hardly the only person. Polonius, especially, spends nearly every waking moment (it seems) spying about this or that person, checking standing on his son in Paris, instructing Ophelia in most detail of her behavior, covering behind tapestries to eavesdrop. He is the parody of a politician, convinced that the truth can only be known through the most roundabout and sneaking ways. This is never clearer compared to in his appearances in Take action Two. First, he instructs Reynaldo inside most incredibly convoluted espionage procedures; second, he hatches and pursues his or her misguided theory that Hamlet will be mad because his heart has become broken by Ophelia.

Claudius, also, is quite the inept Machiavellian. He naively invites Fortinbras for you to march across his country using a full army; he stupidly enlists Rosencrantz and also Guildenstern as his chief agents; his attempt to poison Hamlet leads to total tragedy. He is little much better than Polonius. This political ineptitude goes quite a distance toward revealing how weak Denmark is now under Claudius' rule. He just isn't a natural king, to make certain; he is more interested inside drinking and sex than inside war, reconnaissance, or political plotting. This is partly why his one productive political move, the murder connected with his brother, is so ironic and also foul. He has somehow done away with much the higher ruler, the Hyperion to his or her satyr (as Hamlet puts it).

It's worth noting there is one extremely capable politician inside play -- Hamlet himself. He is always over everyone's motives, everyone's doings and also goings. He plays Polonius as being a pipe and evades every work of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to perform the same to him. He sniffs out Claudius' plot to possess him killed in England and also sends his erstwhile friends off of to die instead. Hamlet is often a true Machiavellian when he wishes to be. He certainly wouldn't are actually as warlike as his dad, but had he gotten the chance he might have been his father's equal as a ruler, simply due to his or her penetration and acumen.
Language

Within Act Two scene two Polonius requires Hamlet, "What do you go through, my lord? " Hamlet responses, "Words, words, words. " Of course every book includes words, every play is some sort of of words, so to speak, and Hamlet is no unique. Hamlet is distinguished, however, in its attentiveness to language inside play. Not only does the idea contain extremely rich language, not merely did the play greatly develop the English vocabulary, Hamlet also contains several characters who show an interest in language and meaning inside themselves.

Polonius, for instance, can often be distracted by his manner connected with expressing himself. In Act A couple of scene two, for example, they says, "Madam, I swear I take advantage of no art at all. / That they is mad, 'tis true: 'tis correct 'tis pity, / And bad 'tis 'tis true. A silly figure, / But farewell to it, for I will use simply no art. " Of course this can be typical Polonius -- absurdly hypocritical, self-enamored, dull-witted. Equally he is extremely windy inside recommending brevity, here he is fussy and also "artful" (or affectedly artificial) in declaring that she is neither of those items. Polonius' grasp of language, such as his political instinct, is quite shallow -- they gestures toward the mastery of rhetoric that seems like a statesman's primary craft, but they are too distracted by surfaces to obtain any real depth.

Another angle where to consider language in your play -- Hamlet explores the more common dichotomy between words and manners. In Act Four, when actually talking to Laertes, Claudius makes this variation explicit: "what would you embark on, / To show yourself ones father's son in deed / In excess of in words? " Here deeds are related to noble acts, specifically the happiness of revenge, and words along with empty bluffing. The passage resonates well beyond its immediate context. Hamlet himself is often a master of language, an explorer connected with its possibilities; he is also a person who has trouble performing precise deeds. For him, reality usually exist more in thoughts and also sentences than in acts. Thus his trouble fulfilling revenge usually stem from his overemphasis upon reasoning and formulating -- a fault of over-precision that she acknowledges himself in the conversation beginning, "How all occasions perform inform against me. "

Hamlet may be the man of language, of words, of the magic of imagined. He is not fit to get a play that so emphasizes the value of action, and he is aware it. But then, the actions itself is contained within words, formed and contained by Shakespeare's dog pen. The action of the play is a lot more an illusion than the language are. Hamlet invites us to think about whether this isn't the case often than we might think, whether the world of words doesn't enjoy a lot of power in framing and describing the world of actions, on stage or perhaps not.
Madness

By the occasion Hamlet was written, madness had been a well-established element in a lot of revenge tragedies. The most popular revenge tragedy with the Elizabethan period, The Spanish Loss, also features a main figure, Hieronymo, who goes mad inside build-up to his revenge, seeing that does the title character inside Shakespeare's first revenge tragedy, Titus Andronicus. But Hamlet is exclusive among revenge tragedies in their treatment of madness because Hamlet's mania is deeply ambiguous. Whereas prior revenge tragedy protagonists are unambiguously insane, Hamlet plays with the concept of insanity, putting on "an antic predisposition, " as he says, for some not-perfectly-clear reason.

Of course, we have a practical advantage to appearing mad. In Shakespeare's source for your plot of Hamlet, "Amneth" (as the legendary good guy is known) feigns madness to avoid the suspicion of the fratricidal double as he plots his revenge. But Hamlet's feigned madness just isn't so simple as this. Their performance of madness, rather compared to aiding his revenge, almost distracts him from that, as he spends the great most the play exhibiting very little curiosity about pursuing the ghost's mission even after he has proven, via "The Mouse Trap, " that Claudius is indeed guilty as sin.

No ask yourself, then, that Hamlet's madness has become a 2010 resilient point of critical controversy since the seventeenth century. The traditional question is in all likelihood the least interesting one for you to ask of his madness -- will be he really insane or will be he faking it? It seems clear from the text that he is, without a doubt, playing the role of the madman (he says he will do just that) and utilizing his veneer of lunacy to have a lot of fun with the many fools that populate Elsinore, especially Polonius, Rosencrantz and also Guildenstern. Perhaps this feigned madness does occasionally edge into actual madness, in the same way that all acted emotions come very all around their genuine models, but, seeing that he says, he is yet mad north-nothwest, and knows a hawk from your handsaw. When he is on it's own, or with Horatio, and free from the necessity to act the lunatic, Hamlet will be incredibly lucid and self-aware, perhaps somewhat manic but hardly insane.

Precisely what should we make of his or her feigned insanity? Hamlet, in keeping with the play in general, seems almost to act the madman because he knows in certain bizarre way that he is playing a role in a revenge tragedy. He knows that she is expected to act mad, because he thinks that that is what one does when searching for revenge -- perhaps because they have seen The Spanish Tragedy. I am joking, of course, on a single level, but he does exhibit self-aware theatricality throughout the play, and if he has not seen The Spanish Tragedy, they have certainly seen The Death connected with Gonzago, and many more takes on besides. He knows his part, or what his role needs to be, even as he is struggling to play it satisfactorily. Hamlet is beautifully miscast because revenger -- he is constitutionally unfitted pertaining to so vulgar and unintelligent a fate -- and likewise his attempt to play your madman, while a valiant work, is forced, insincere, anxious, uncertain, and full of doubts. Maybe Hamlet himself, if we can ask him, would not know why they chooses to feign madness much more than we do.

Needless to express, Hamlet is not the only one who goes insane in the perform. Ophelia's madness serves as an obvious foil to his own unusual antics. She is truly, unambiguously, innocently, merely mad. Whereas Hamlet's madness usually increase his self-awareness, Ophelia loses every vestige of composure and also self-knowledge, just as the truly insane often do.
Subjectivity

Harold Bloom, talking about Hamlet at the Library connected with Congress, said, "The play's subject massively is neither mourning for that dead or revenge on your living.... All that matters is Hamlet's consciousness of her own consciousness, infinite, unlimited, and with war with itself. " He or she added, "Hamlet discovers that his life has become a 2010 quest with no object except her own endlessly burgeoning subjectivity. " Bloom just isn't the only reader of Hamlet to discover such an emphasis on your self.

Hamlet's soliloquies, to take only the obvious feature, are strong and sustained investigations with the self -- not only as being a thinking being, but as psychological, bodily, and paradoxically multiple. Hamlet, fascinated with his own character, his uncertainty, his inconsistency, spends line immediately after line wondering at himself. Why can't I accomplish revenge? Why can't I accomplish suicide? He questions himself, and in so doing questions the nature of your self.

Aside from these substantial speeches, Hamlet shows a sustained curiosity about philosophical problems of the theme. Among these problems is your mediating role of thought in most human life. "For there will be nothing good or bad, but thinking causes it to become so, " he says. You can never know the truth, they suggests, nor the good, nor the evil with the world, except through the way of our thoughts. Certainty is not an option. And the great world of uncertainty, the realm connected with dreams, fears, thoughts, is your realm of subjectivity.
Suicide

Similar to madness, suicide is a theme that will links Hamlet and Ophelia and shapes the concerns with the play more generally. Hamlet thinks deeply over it, and perhaps "contemplates" it inside more popular sense; Ophelia perhaps commits it. In both conditions, the major upshot of suicide is religious. In his a couple of "suicide soliloquies, " Hamlet segues into meditations upon religious laws and mysteries -- "that the Everlasting had not fixed / His canon 'gainst self-slaughter"; "For in that sleep of death what dreams can come. " And Ophelia's burial is greatly restricted to the clergy's suspicions that she may have taken her own life. In short, Hamlet appears to suggest that had been it not for, first, the social stigma placed on suicide by religious authorities, and also second, the legitimately "unknown" character of whatever happens after passing away, there would be a lot more self-slaughter in this difficult and also bitter world. In a play so enthusiastic about the self, and the nature with the self, it's only natural to discover this emphasis on self-murder.

It's worth mentioning among the major interpretive issues of Hamlet: was Ophelia's death accidental or maybe a suicide? According to Gertrude's narration with the event, Ophelia's drowning was entirely accidental. However, some have suggested that Gertrude's long story can be a fabrication invented to protect the young woman from the social stigma of suicide. Really, in Act Five the priest and also the gravediggers are fairly certain that Ophelia took her own life. One might ask oneself -- why does it make such a variation to us whether she died by her own hand or not? Shakespeare seems, in fact, to inspire this very almost self-interrogation. Are we, like the characters inside play, so invested in protecting Ophelia from the stigma of suicide?
Theater

Which is the star of this perform, Hamlet or Hamlet? T. Ohydrates. Eliot, for one, unequivocally encourages the latter: "Few critics have ever accepted that Hamlet the play may be the primary problem, and Hamlet the character only secondary. " In result, Hamlet is a play about plays, about theater. Most certainly, it contains a play in just a play, detailed instructions on acting technique, an extended conversation about London theater companies and their own fondness for boy troupes, numerous references to other theater (including for you to Christian mystery plays, and for you to Shakespeare's own Julius Caesar), and still more references to the level on which it is getting performed, in the globe theater which consists of ghost "in the cellarage. inches

But what is the point with this constant metatheatrical winking? Hamlet, among other considerations, is an extended meditation around the nature of acting and the partnership between acting and "genuine" living. It refuses to obey the traditional restrictions of theater and constantly spills out in the audience, as it were, pointing out the "real" surroundings with the "fictional" play, and thus incorporating them in the larger theatrical experience.

Most specifically, Hamlet is an exploration of your specific genre and its unique generic conventions. It is the revenge tragedy to separate all revenge tragedies, both containing and commenting around the elements that define the style. Modern audiences are quite comfortable with such a "meta-generic" approach. Think of modern westerns, heist movies, or fighting methods movies. All of these genres are getting to be almost obligatorily self-aware; they contain references to past milestones within their respective genres, they gleefully and also ironically embrace (or alternatively reject) your conventions that past films dealt with with sincerity. Hamlet, in its relationship to revenge tragedy also to theater more generally, is among the first dramas of this kind and perhaps still the most profound case of such post-modern concerns.

To put it cutely, Hamlet itself may be the main character of the perform, and Hamlet merely the means by which it explores its own place in the history of theater. To produce things yet dizzier, Hamlet seems, deep down, to know that she is in a play, to know that he is miscast, to know the theatrical nature of his or her being. And who's to say that individuals aren't all merely actors in our own lives? Surely, from a philosophical perspective, this is among the basic truths of modern human life.

Where experience is not required?

In almost every job experience is required and preffered. But in which job experience is not preferred?

It is in the job of being husband or wife. LOL!!!!!!!!!

What is history

History is nothing but a lie
a lie of a lie
or a forgotten shrine of truth
Who knows?

Why people avoid having sex in public?????????????????

Well, the question may seem little occurred but this is a fact that people commonly wants to avoid the topic of their sex life in public. But have you thought why?

I know anyone haven't ever thought about it. This ignoring of sex related topic in public is a complex phenomenon which has its evolution only in human beings and not anyone else. So it needs a deep concentration.

What is the problem with parents?

Well, this is a true fact that the parents think that their children are thei property, own property.
And this actually comes from the primeval believe that biological relationship can have certain value.

But we are becoming more and more aware of the reality as we are becoming civilized,of course not in the European sense but in the sense we possess within.

Biological relationships are nothing but the relationships which are thrown upon us by the society. This is nothing but a social construction which makes us believe that we can be really intimate with the people who only have blood relationship with us.

But our experiences again and again prove this well accepted theory wrong.

Even Marx was not a Marxist!!!!!!!

Karl Marx undoubtedly was an influential philosopher. But do you know that even Marx himself was not a Marxist.
Marx himself admitted that there was no new idea in his theory of dialectical materialism. He borrowed the term dialectic from Hegel and materialism from Fraurbegh. what he did is that he synthesized all the ideas and then came up with an interpretation of the movement of the history.

Thus, Marx was not himself a Marxist.

A Truth of the Indians

After about 900 years of foreign rule and suffering we no longer need foreigner's bodily presence to make us slaves. Now our mentality has transformed into slavish and that is enough to make us slave.

A personal Experience

In my case no real answer never came to me by asking any question and getting its answer.Any answer never satisfied the germ of inquiery in me.It is even now in me.Real answer came to me the moments I was least anxtious of the answers. It came in some unnoticed moments. And suddenly I realized that I have got the answer.

Two questions. One for Religious people and the other for Athiests.

My question for Atheists

"suppose you are a young man having no sexual problems. One day in a stormy night you meet a young girl and she wants help from you.Why will you not just rape her? the world is just about nothingness and you are just a being made of materials.WHY WILL YOU NOT JUST RAPE HER?

And my question to the religious people

"If you find your God is not giving you anything in your after life will you then also love Him?Say from your heart. If you belief in the concept of religion which is nothing but a business then you answer should be no? do you agree with me?"

If you ask what is the strangest thing in the world to me?

I will answer like this

Look every single human being has his or her personal opinion. And this is not a problem. But there should be and must be a change in their opinion. And otherwise it is not their personal opinion. If it is a personal opinion it must undergo through certain changes.

But the problem is that most of the people can't accept this changing reality(though many of them verbally accept). And they stick to their temporal conception of unchanging reality. And fights with one another to protest their temporal changeless reality but ironically they themselves cannot uphold their changeless personal opinion too long. How strange!

A short poem

What is the use of seeing more
when I already know who you are!

why do people look again and again to the ugliness
when they already know those are filthy nothing else

A question solved of the novel "The outsider" by Albert Camus

Why the protagonist used 4 bullets?

First, the first bullet was enough to kill the Arab.So is it much important to concentrate on the fact that the protagonist used four bullets instead of one.Afterall he has not killed four men with his four bullets.

second, the protagonist killed the Arab for self defense. This killing for self defense is itself justified. So what is wrong in him if he ensures his self defense by using four bullet?

third,From the description of the moment of killing and from the later honest confession in the court the protagonist shows that his mental condition was not well due to the excessive heat And his this honest confession is itself enough to justify his four bullets. How can we expect too rational decision of using just one bullet for self defense when his both physical and mental condition is not well.

fourth, his very act of using four bullets proves that he is not a professional criminal. If he were professional he would not use those extra bullets.

fifth, the protagonist lacks the quality of showiness. To him there is no difference between killing a man using one bullet or four. But the pretentious society is too much concerned about this detail cause this society is constituted of the morals having no connection with the deeper reality of human being.

Some words on the "Death of Ivan Illich " by Leo Tolstoy

My opinion is also that it is more about life.

But how?

I would say by showing the falsity of death.
From the very beginning we found that the characters consciousness are one with the one that is crowd consciousness. That is the pretentious consciousness, seeing all things objectively. All through the novel the shadow of death exists. But no one except Greasm is ready to accept death as a subjective reality. All men die and as cious is a man he also dies. But no one is ready to take death as a subjective reality.Even Ivan before his final realizing point doesn't accept death from his whole being. But once he accepts death as a subjective reality he finds death no longer exists.Death is a falsity. So by showing the falsity of death Tolstoy shows his moralistic view of life.A man would act in his life not as he should but as he feel. And by showing the contrastive attitude to death he becomes successful in showing his view towards life all through the novel.

A question thyat will be solved soon

Tell about the significance of sleep walking scene in Tess of the D'urvervills.

A POEM

What is the use of words if you don't feel
what is the use of thousands of love poems
if there is no love in you
what is the use of your heart
if it has no pain to cry
to say she yet not die!

2 questions on Robinson Crusoe

can anyone answer these two questions from Robinson Crusoe. Very interesting.

1.Realism pursued through imagination".How far do you find this statement appropriate for Robinson crusoe.

2.What inconsistencies do you see in the character of crusoe?Discuss them with reference to the novel.

The Dreamer(part 5)

I don't say that mind is as dangerous as that sea monster. It is far more dangerous than that.It doesn't kill people but gives a deathless death,a lifeless life.It is a disease and it has an epidemic power.millions and millions dead bodies it can create having no hope,no destiny but to live.Life becomes a ritual,a festival of hyenas .Just to be born and die ,not to live.

Several time kanu went to the night's sky and told his utter emptiness. But satan knows how to dissipate a man standing in front of his creative shild. As there was no answer from the other side, it aroused the germ of doubt in kanu's heart.A heart can tolerate anything. But it is like enduring a dagger's stab for a living heart to endure the pain of doubt.

OLY IF you have the hope dauntless,a faith relentless then and only then you are not on Satan's possession rather you are the possessor of that monster which you essentially are.

Only mind knows like Satan knows his utter godlessness, its pride is Satan's pride, its destiny is satan's destiny. But it is also the destiny of men that millions of this species will jump on to the burning hell just like the filthy insects.

Who can tell how many sailors, grand sailors who had the hope
of Columbus in their heart, zeal of tsunami in their eyes has fallen in
that trap and lost their goal. How many great Arabian night hero's choose
their death as reward from the zini.

The Dreamer (part 4)

But mind Can't stop so easily.Again and again it awakes with more and more stubbornness. The mariners who sail in the midst of dark violent storm or desperate to find an island to save their live sometimes find the sea monster as their desired island. But when the sun arises, when the dreamy sleep breaks, when the
hope of life begins to arise then the monster vanishes away taking all desires of with him.

Days past and kanu felt herself more akin to sky.He became empty more empty just like the sky,and his saggy mind could not compete with his vast vast empty sky.He found that someone perhaps the great emptyness lulled his mind.

But if time is the greatest killer than it is also the greatest healer. It is only undaunted hope which can change the great killer healer's mind. But hope has also to show its power in the coliseum.

 There
was nothing to do for kanu except waiting.Waiting for an impatient man
is meaningless cause he has not any goal. But all the problem lies for
the people like kanu. There is no torment equal to the patient man's
torment of waiting caring the germs of unbeliever mind.

The Dreamer(part 3)

Several months passed after the THREAD dream of kanu,as he thinks.Nothing happened. The time was for him just like his empty sky.As if the dream had made him more empty. For a certain time his mind tried to question, what is there so certain in that dream? .But always while fighting with those suggestion he found that if the dream is meaningless, then he himself is meaningless.

But this hope had nothing to do with the father of kanu,a flute seller who used to remain absent from the house for quite a long time. And day by day his absence grew longer and longer. He was also a dumb character for kanu as usual. As if the skies of kanu can't exist without dumb creatures.

All his faded dreams of mother and all his unseen dream of supernatural world were mixed together in the every face of skies. But they were dumb, they just came and went, only a shadow of them went into the realm of memory of kanu.Hope alone was the savior of kanu in the cruel laboratory of time.

As kanu grew up skies became all for him.All day he thought how will be the sky of the night and all night he thought how will be the sky of the morning.sky made him empty and just left the hope of the world unknown to him alone

The dreamer (part 2)

Kanu was somehow certain that the world he sees something will give him.He had an undaunted hope from the world that it would unfold its mystery to him.He listened to the stories of supernatural beings and those became a part of his mental life. His life became a dream for him with its shaky existence. But never a dream came to him as a thread for the word that he dreamed from his dreamy world.
He was just an ordinary
villager brought up in the heaven of ignorance and superstition. He may had easily flew with the common birds but he flew in the opposite. He did not played in his childhood but wondered the play, war and peace of the sky.He doesn't know why an empty empty sky made him a dreamer.

There was a crowd of skies in his mind!He knew that the skies are not the same.Every time he looked into the sky and found a different sky.

 It
is not just about the summer ,winter, night, day, morning or afternoon
which control the sky rather it is they, the innumerable skies who come
turn by turn to make the wheel of time ever anew!

Kanu sometimes thought that may be the innumerable skies in his
head gave birth the idea of a new world to him.The skies are the
inhabitant of a ever new world and the maker of a world endlessly
new. They are the angles who make visible to us this world.Kanu thought
that they are the angles who can make kanu's unseen dream world visible.
he met with the skies as much as he can.But the skies in return gave
him nothing except two times failure is s.s.c exam. His father lost all
hope in him but kanu lost nothing.Kanu's life was for his new world,he
wanted to lose this world.Failure in the exam was really a gift for
him.Among these loses he never lost his trust to the angel skies. They
were the hope of the new world for him.

Time is a poison, though it is slow but this slowness does not make the poison weaker.Rather it is a great tonic to its power. It at once prepares the victim to endure endlessly more pain and gives the opportunity to the poison to show its greater power.Just like kanu's loss of her mother at the age of 6 was not a momentary grief.Time gave its poison drop by drop to him very attentively.Attentively because there was no brothers or sisters of kanu who can divert the attention of time.

Kanu used to try to remember the face of his mother. But those tries gave no fruit to him.He often asked himself how he could forget the face of his mother who never seperated his face from her heart until her soul was separated from her heart?

THE DREAMER(part 1)

THE DREAMER(part 1)

"The time came
and he began to cook.
To cook his head, his own head, with Some spicy sauce".What he began to cook his head! someone asked the storyteller,an old barbar, with his curious eyes. The old man stopped for a moment stared at the questener and abruptly said,"you will do the same".

It was the dream which gave kanu his desired thread,a thread of the supernatural world which he was searching from his childhood to his 20 years of age.But what was in that dream of which he is so sure asked his ignorant mind?Any answer didn't came to him in words but something assured him about the thread.(to be continued)

WHAT IS PESSIMISM?????

The thing I can hardly tolerate is pessimism.Any kind of pessimism is either born from fear or from hypocrisy.

ACTUALLY WE ARE STILL SLAVES OF THE WHITE PEOPLE.

We are still colonized in our mentality. It becomes clear from our behavior with the foreign people especially white people and from our general attitudes.
1
If a person mixes English words while speaking in bangla then he is supposed to be a learned man.It is not considered as an incapability but an admirable quality.what a slavish attitude!we can't even respect our language.

2.
we generally don't fell that we are doing sth worthy unless a white man approves it.And if any white man(whoever it is it doesn't matter) approves it,we suddenly realize that we are doing sth worthy.

3.often we see advertisement of some people in which the main focus becomes that he or she has degrees from a foreign university.Suddenly we begin to admire him or her without even inquiring the quality of the institution from which he or she got the degree because the brand of foreign university makes us blind.

3.If any white people comes to our country,we compete with one another to meet with him,to get some photos with him.A question,if you go to the u.k. or u.s.a. will they also show such madness to meet with you?

4
We expect the solution of even our national matters from white people. But do they care our opinions in their national matters.

ACTUALLY WE ARE STILL SLAVES OF THE WHITE PEOPLE.

What really is our purpose of education??????????????

One of the main purposes of our education system is to teach jealousy in the name of competition.
And the inevitable result of this jealousy is corruption which we learn from our childhood.

A Truth that you don't know

We all want that the other people should speak truth to us.But truth is not always sweet. If someone speaks truth to us which is not sweet for us then how many of us has the gut to praise him or her for his or her bravery(that is the act of telling truth)?

Actually most of us are not brave enough to accept truth then how can we expect truth from other people?

An anonymous story Part 1

The story starts when he finally went to that house. The house was somewhat you say like the house of his child-hood,the house in which he lived until that cursed night came. What's the use of mentioning he he lets come to the point .His name was Dhanesh.I am telling was because no one knows that is it appropriate to address him is or was. However, lets come to the story.I was telling about that cursed night. In that night sth ominous must have been happened that made the night cursed for Dhanish.Let's start with the morning of that night's day.The morning was foggy but sth unpleasent was there in that fog.Dhanish could sense it bet could not graspe that in the language. But an anxiety increased in his heart and his all theory of uncertainity could not stop his anxiety. At last that night came when a voice came and it came from the photo of his grandfather. But how can a voice rather a cold voice come from that photo.Well it could be a matter of great concern for Dhanish if it would have been in any other night. But that night was different quite different cause the anxiety made him prepared to face anything. However, the voice was cold with a message which can be called hot or breaking whatever you like.It said "go away, ran away cause they are coming. They will come and ruin all. They will cut you into pieces.Run away my sun cause you have, yes only you have the possibility of living."It was the spur of the moment that led Dhanish outside of that house. It may be called a seer act of selfishness or a seer act of liberty.Dhanish, the moment he left his house became the member of the world with which he acted selfishly and in the very moment he also became selfish to the world in which he lived so long.We can call Dhanish a man of spurs. But it was no matter for him.He traveled all these 20 years through many places. The reflection which frequently came to him was that in whatever world you may choose the world

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY VALID REASON FOR ACADEMIC STUDY OF LITERATURE?

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY VALID REASON FOR ACADEMIC STUDY OF LITERATURE?
(yes, I myself can mention a few.
1. it compulses you to study some literary things which in other circumstances you would not read.

2.academic study of literature helps you to research on different sides of literature.

3.It helps to develop your critical faculty.

BUT DON'T YOU THINK THESE REASONS HAVE ALL THINGS TO DO WITH COMPULSION AND THINKING AT BEST DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL FACULTY AND ALMOST NOTHING TO DO WITH DELIGHT AND FREEDOM?
SO I AM SEARCHING FOR A REASON FOR THE ACADEMIC STUDY OF LITERATURE WHICH WILL ANSWER ME HOW ACADEMIC STUDY OF LITERATURE GIVES DELIGHT AND FREEDOM. AND IF IT DOESN'T GIVE THEN WILL IT BE CORRECT TO SAY THAT "LITERAURE SHOULD NOT BE STUDIED ACADEMICALLY FOR THE SAKE OF LITERATURE"?

Should Exam exist

I think  the system is wrong. To be particular the exam system is wrong. And even if you choose your favorite area  of reading then it would not be so much effective.Because exam will kill your interest eventually.I think exam Itself should be banned.and it is the only way by which we can be really free and a creative human being too.

Academic study of literature in a true sense is not possible.

your choice of taking literature as an academic subject in general kills the creative delight.Any writer does not write for making his writing as academic text. There are mainly 2 causes for writing literature. 1.to give pure delight 2.to give knowledge through delight So delight is a must. But academic study in general kills this delight. So I am saying that academic study does not go with the spirit of literature. There would not be any problem if the authorities of literature departments plainly admitted that they have nothing to do with the spirit of literature. All they are doing is just the application of literature. But as they are not making it clear and holding the name "Department of literature", it is giving a wrong message.Yes it is  right that in a broader sense literature covers everything. So if you really want to know literature you need freedom which academic study can't give you.So I am saying that" Academic study of literature in a true sense is not possible."

What is better life or illussion?

It is far better to live in a life without any illusion. It is illusion that can lead a life to a constant dilemma and the fall from that state at once makes you aware of the reality and gives a slap to you free with it. so it is always better to remain in real world than to go to the world which gives you the fear of disillusionment free with it.

Learning a Language

Taken taken yes I only taken
my house is full with stones loathen
but one thing I forgot to take
for my home really to make!

One midnight I woke up
something inner said in me I didn't wake up!
Though there were coloured stones as before
I felt the hollowness at their core!

I asked someone whom I never asked
there was silence as she a dumbed!
But I had no alternate
so I asked again and again to irritate!

But there was silence deep
I found my sadness no where to keep
sadness grew
heart showed its hue
But there was no answer
no answer from the one who made me unhappier!

So I went to my belived ones
but I saw their houses not their homes
so I came my house back
carring the dagger in my heart's back!

Now I try to learn her language
which she tells by her unuttered silence
as if she making me silent
like a mother lulling her child by making it reticent!

Source unknown!

Like an unknown nomad
you fall in an unknown land,
you know not any bound
still you have a sweet sound.

Man after man
heard you when they can
your roar is not discordant
but a sweet melody more than consistent.

You distinct not
any region cold or hot
you know not any truth
Because you are the truth!

Oh!what an unbiased guy you are!
How can you be so neutral here!
Oh! rain are you the one
who is falling in us from the source unknown!!!

Our just our paradise

Our just our paradise

Many many miles away
we will meet at moor in our way
will not think any lesson
must possess light in bosom

where time is dead
mind has nothing to made
there awaits no decorated bed
whole world our bridal bed

must listen unheard melodies
must see the eternal comedies
must change tragedies their clad before our paradise
cause they are for our just our paradise!

Song I Hear Song you Hear

I got a mirror in my hand
as if a song of mermaid I heard
my song can never be heard by anyone
still I show my mirror to everyone

Some saw nothing not heard anything
few heard something
but they can't say anything
certain they also heard something

oh! the beholder
oh! the hearer
we can never share
all our song which we hear.

What I have found in Othello

My view of Iago in Othello now I am going to say.I think Iago shows how it is possible for even a highly intellectually equipped character to do bad things.you can compare him with that BUET student who plucked his wife's eyes.Actually,Shakespeare tries to show in this play the superiority of human nature.Unless you reach the core of your consciousness you can never say what you are. Here Othello and Iago both are unaware of themselves .Iago just have increased his intellectuality and as i have said this does not certify his nature. On the other hand Othello did not know that in him there is a germ of jealousy.Shylock using his intellectuality just brings out this hidden quality of Othello.I think for a similar reason Tagore said"শূধু তোমায় বাণী নয় হেবন্ধু হে প্রিয় মাঝে মাঝে প্রাণে তোমার পরশ খানি দিও"over all this play shows how unaware human being are about themselves.(may be not reverent take it as my view that the solution of this human nature has long ago been given by the Indian philosophers as সচ্চিদানন্দ(সত্‍ চিত্‍ আনন্দ) that is in the core of human consciousness there is good ,there is life and there is delight.Unless you have realized that thing you never know whether you are Iago or Othello.you are not what you are! )

He Was Destined!!!!!!!

Everyone told him to run so he also ran.He saw many people passing him and someone said you have to pass them otherwise you will fail.So he tried to run faster and faster. He saw many people falling like old leaps and other people trampling them away.Someone said it is life my dear and it is just a cruel race.Learn to enjoy it.He tried his best to enjoy but he was destined to fail.Utter melancholy came to him.He clearly saw there is an Unknown unseen, untouched part of life beyond the life they see.And he had found the shadow of that life in his melancholy. Then he met some melancholic philosophers. They said to him that sadness is life and human being is destined to be sad.He could see that they have philosophized his pain but not brave enough to seek its solution. Now he decided to sop the race. His dear ones said that you are a fool, mad and destined to suffer. But he was destined to be a brave. So having the risk of being loosing all things he stopped the race to see the unknown,Unseen, Untouched

Critical mind and creative mind

One of the aims of studing literature  may be to build a critical mind but it is not the sole cause.  The main aim of all education is to creat a creative mind.

What IS Humanitarian movement??????

This movement was actually an effect of Renaissance. In Europe before Renaissance People were the slave of Scholastic philosophy that is religious philosophy. Then it was belived that human beings are for religion. But Renaissance brought about a significant change in the mindset of the European people. They became liberal in their attitude. They began to understand that human beings are not for religion rather religions are for human beings. So significan effect of this movement had on literature. In the previous age religion was completely seperated from human  love between man and women. But the literature of this age shows the mixture of human love and religious spirit. This is an effect of the humanitarian movement.(please share if you have like it)

What is justice?

What is justice? This was the long search of Plato. He had to fight with all the world just to prove that justice is within.

Think different live really

Are we all dead people? Are we really living. Yes, if living means to eat,sex and so and so then certainly we are. But if not then??????????????????????????

The difference between philosophy and darshan

Actually our vnegligence for the Indian philosophy deprives us from knowing truth.

If we consider the history of India given b y the British people after they have conquered India then India has no history.

But the history what is given by the British people was a total lie.

Long long before Plato and Aristotle said about the philosophy the Indians were dealing with more higher version of philosophy which was called by them as Darshan.

Philosophy means love for knowledge. This comes from an enthusiastic search of the world. But by its own defination Darshan is different. It means seeing the truth. This is not an enthusiastic interpretation of the world. The philosophy of plato and others were like a child's thought in comparison to the thoughts of the master of Indian Darshan or philosophy as you may call it.

But alas we are deprived from all these truths because of our stupidity.

Why human beings are different from animals?

There is no limit of the wonder of mind. Even a super computer is nothing comparing to the ability of the mind.

Why human mind is so much different.

It is because it's power of judgement. So your power of judgement makes you different from other animals.

And if you are a literature student then it is sure you have a high power of evaluative judgement. That makes this department a part of the humanities discipline. You become a human by the help of literature.

A paradoxical question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Child is the greatest philosopher or child is the living example of the truth that human beings are nothing but beasts. I am just trying to grow a critical understanding in you. So what do you say?

Are We learning anything at all throughout our life??????????????????????????????????????????????

Yes, in a sense we are always learning something. But If I ask what you are learning from your education system?????????????????????????????????

Is it not competition. Yes throughout our whole life we are learning how to compete. But in the Vail of competition are we not learning JEALOUSY. Are we not becoming slave of a green eyed monster JEALOUSY?

WHY SHOULD YOU READ LITERATURE

One of the main benefits of reading literature is that you can see the world in a new way. It is no longer a dull monotonous repetition of daily activities. life does not remain only as a machine but you become a leaving human being among hundreds of dead people. So don't neglect this golden opportunity which very few people get in their life.

I am just a friend of yours who will help you to start the journey.

Is the Concept of Globalization based on a totally wrong ground?

How does a scientific mind answer the question of humanity?
Science always try to prove things and justify the world with logic. So what is wrong to kill thousand of people just to know the power of an weapon. There can be various logic shown for this act. First, human race will not extinguish by just only killing thousands of people. Second, science will know many unknown things by it.

But beyond logic we from our deepest being can understand that this will be a wrong act. It is a self evident knowledge in us which does not need to be revealed by logic. So this proves logic is actually inferior to the inner being of human beings. True to say all logic tries to find out the inner truth. But all of them do not reach their destination. many fails. So the failed logic has not actually any value because they does not represent any inner truth. Although mind can support those logic but if inner being denies it then it is actually a false.
Is there any reason that ELT should go as a parallel  discipline with English literature?

How to write an explanation of a question of English literature?

Many of the students oft English literature cannot bring good marks while writing explanation of a quote. The main reason behind this is that they do not know the real process of writing.

Please pay attention.
First in two or three sentences write the location of the quotation in the main text. Also mention in what context does the quotation appears. After this 2-3 sentences are finished then in a different para
explain the quotation. You can compare the quotation with other texts and thematic comparison and contrast between them.

(PLEASE SHARE THE SITE IF YOU THINK IT IS HELPFUL)

I am new in blogging.

I am new in blogging. So I don't have proper idea how to advertise a site. The sole thing I know that I can help the students of English literature and the people who love literature.

So if you feel that I am doing something meaningful please share my blog with your friends in Facebook, twit and other online social media.
Another brain storming idea. Do you think globalization means the dissolving of personal identity, culture etc. At least the agenda of the advanced world is like that.

First the attack is coming into our language. Our language is becoming a pidgin. For example pure bangla is now almost a rare specimen. All of us are trying to show they are globalized just by adding as much English as possible in Bangla. The true fact is that they neither can speak Bangla or English solely from a fluent level.

As if globalization is a fight that you have to fight with the individuality of distinct cultures.
But is it the only way. How can a human race can develop by loosing its connection with its thousand year's old culture.

I am not saying that globalization is not necessary. Of course it is necessary. But it is not necessary to De-humanize them to be a part of the global world.

Is the Concept of Globalization is based on a totally wrong ground?

I want to have a lively discussion with all of you. You know the research says that while reading you learn only 10 percent, when listening 20 percent, when discussing about 60 percent!!!!!!!!! and when teaching about 80 percent. I from my experience can say that this is really a fact. So are you with me in the discussion. Anyone can come.
Child is the greatest philosopher or child is the living example of the truth that human beings are nothing but beasts. I am just trying to grow a critical understanding in you. So what do you say?

In many English literature departments there is philosophy course as well as phonetics. I am going to post on those topics too.
What is justice? This was the long search of Plato. He had to fight with all the world just to prove that justice is within.

What should be the language of literature?
well dom't you think it should be the mother tongue of a person. About language we are not fully aware of. Language is a mysterious phenomenon. There are several sub-conscious layers of language and a language is so complex by its nature that it can be compared to a living spirit. So a native speaker actually catches so much thing from a language that it becomes a mammoth task to acquire those things for a non-native reader. If he or she by hard work acquires this thing then what is the use of it????????????? By that same time with that same labor he or she could have created a masterpiece in his or her own language.
Waiting to know your opinion.

How to get a good mark for the answer of a literature question?

It is not so simple. But I am making it simple for you.
follow these steps.
1. RRead the question carefully first.
2. Find out the key phrase. That means the demand of the question. Suppose the question says How contemporary social situation inspires the poet to write this poem? Can you identify the key phrase. Yes it is "how". So answer from the ghow pperspective and stick to it.

This is mainly the technique,. However I will come soon with a detailed discussion about this topic.
Well
Honestly speaking This blog is a total soklution for the english literature students. I am ready to try my level best to answer questions from you.

I know you face lot of problem while reading in this discipline. But I can help you. So please don't hesitate to ask me any question.
Hi viewers
Do you know how to write an interoduction of a literature question's answer ? I t is very important.
I will explain it with Bangla video tutorial soon.
My analysis of "THE OUTSIDER"by Albert Camus.
I think this is a must reading book to understand ourselves,to understand how often we pretend what we are not and how often we forget to see what we have got.Meursault is an outsider of the society because and only because he is not a liar and I agree with Camus that telling lie is not just only telling what is not true but it is also telling more than what is true.Meursault's mother died and its a natural process. But society is more concerned with expression rather than inner feeling. It was very easy for him to pretend he is very sad but he did not do that.Later, when the magistrate said that all the criminals actually repent for their sin towards God when they come to the court, the protagonist rightly said that it is only because they were criminals though the magistrate didn't like his answer. So called civilized pretentious society is actually a paradise for the liars but it is a hale for the truthful. There are some basic religious questions also aroused in this novel. The priest, the magistrate are telling him"Antichrist" only because he has denied to pretend that he believes those things which he doesn't understand.what I personality in him that he believes those things which he can understand. But society needs those people who can pretend that they believe those things which they can't even understand like the chaplain. There is also another practical question arrives that why all the people born in a particular community should be considered as an asset of that particular community till their death. The point becomes more clear when the chaplain says to the protagonist "sometimes you think you're sure when really you're not" when he said about God.As if it was the chaplain's responsibility to prove him a christian anyway or other.I have discussed just one part of my analysis but there is another and I think more important.I think every man is an outsider to everyman and this thing is shown in this novel.you can't interfere anybody's life.Everyone is different from another. For example the mother of the protagonist is above all an individual and she has full right to enjoy her life even at the end because every life in anytime someway blessed or enjoyable.Everyone has to die and Everyone has full demand over his life.It actually valueless to cry for someone after his death. And there is also no meaning of feeling the life of a condemned man not enjoyable because in a way everyone is condemned.I think the novel says nothing but"be what you are!!!"
In this play Shakespeare actually tries to show the difference between the apparent and the reality. In the first scene we find the actual face of Rodrigo and Iago. They sees Othello nothing but a black moor. They feel that it is unreasonable and disgraceful for them to give respect to a black moor, and it is also unfair to have a fair wife like Desdemona of that black moor. The reason lies behind this hatred is the racial malignity. The second scene of this drama starts with a dramatic irony.Iago says that although in his profession he has killed many men, his conscience does not allow him to do any "contrived murder" and only for that reason he is not killing Roderigo. This shows how people can hide their actual intention under the clad of appearance. But Othello's reaction is very important. His speech does not show any kind of agitation but stability and calmness. The reason behind that Othello does not love Roderigo,so he can't hart Othello. But later we will see that in the case of Desdemona Iago can easily instigate Othello. The reason behind that is Othello loved Desdemona. It represents another theme of the play that the question of trust in love.I think when Othello married Desdemona Othello's main concern was to marry a white lady from a reputed family. This kind of mentality aroused in him the fear of loosing Desdemona.SO apparently Othello loved Desdemona but in reality he loved his fame. And when the situation like this arises
it is obvious that there should be lack of trust.Iago has simply brought out what were hidden in the mind of Othello.
I think this play actually shows the superiority of Christianity against Greek philosophy, and thus becomes a highly religious play.Let me explain.Hieronimo represents a conflict between Christianity and paganism. In christian point of view, vengeance is not our duty but the responsibility of God.On the other hand ,from pagan point of view it is your holy duty to take revenge. And in this play vengeance is proffered by all the characters.so Greek god and goodness and their mythical stories are introduced in this play. But the purpose remains the same that is to glorify christinity by showing the bad effects of vengeance taken by humans.vengeance is like a chain and love is closely connected with this chain. In this play all things started when Andrea was killed.Bel-imperia loved him. Then she fall in love with Horatio, not because of the love of horatio but because of her hatret to Balthezar and Horatio's friendship with late Andrea. This love also continues the chain of vengeance.Because Balthazar loved Bel-imperia and Horatio becomes his opponent.so Balthezer takes his vengeance and as we can see it is for love. Then Hermenio takes his revenge by killing Balthezer,Lorenzo and Duke of Castile, and behind this vengeance there is also love, love for his son Horatio. But does the chain stops completely? The answer is given at the last scene.Andrea is not satisfied even after the death of all his enemies. The fire of vengeance is even then in his heart. So he wants the punishment of his enemy soul even after their death and the sprit of revenge assures him of that revenge. Thus,it is shown that vengeance is a never ending process and it is always better to rely on God ,and in this way the superiority of christian philosophy is shown.

In this play we also find the theme of class distinction. The life of a soldier like Andrea is nothing to the king.He can enjoy with and even give their daughter to the enemies, just after a war in which his soldiers were fighting with them with the risk of their life. The point become more visible when Duke of calchester tells his daughter that it was a wrong choice for her to love Andrea and he is pleased that she now loves Balthezer. Thus the theme of class distinction is also introduced.

We can also find that love in this play are not for loves sake but for personal interest.Bel-imperia loves Horatio not because of the love of horatio but because he was the nearest and acceptable man for her.Horatio's love depends on the social status of Bel-imperia otherwise he should not fall in love so easily.Balthezar also loves her for personal gain. This become clear when Bel-imperia says that his mind is for sth higher(actual kingdom)thus, crude love is here the ally of vengeance.
I paraphrase the title"as you like it" as"just the thing you wish to happen".At the beginning of the play we find the problems and at the end we find the perfect solution,as if fate has thrown away here thrown and just has her flowers only. But if we see closely shakespeare is also typical here in this play.Like other comedies of shakespear, this play also deals with some serious issues and questions.we find orlando or rosalind are becoming affectionet for one another but behind that affection there is the point of intimacy behind their parents. But celia is the only women who tries to deny the supremacy of parential relationship over love. When celia and rosalind wear disguise that become very very suggestive.THis disguise at one hand shows how was the security or position of women in a society and on the other hand shows the tendency of human being to pretend or rather think to some extend himself identical with his appearance১This things happens to the duke senior.Although in the first appearance he said that he loves that forest of ardent so much that it is just like an heaven.actually this was not his deep thought rather a thought of his appearance.but at the last part of the play he shows his actual nature by accepting his kingship so eagerly.
I think Paradise lost is a representation of protestant doctrine of life. This view says that everything is predestined or runs according to the will of God.Milton in his epic tries to uphold this doctrine and accordingly he says"I may assert eternal providence,/And justify the ways of God to man."Here satan is the representative of free will and he things it is unconquerable. But from the statement of milton which I have mentioned,it is clear that he in no way supports the free will and will justify God's will. Some lines of Satan or miltons comments may appear as examples of milton's sympathy to satan but if we see closely we will find the fruitlessness of these debates because satan was actually trying to depict the real nature of a creature who thinks that he has a free will.obviously as he was trying to present a true nature, there comes few heroic characteristics of satan as well as some bad characteristics. But it does not mean that he was in Satan's side rather it proves he can depict a character more realistically.

My analysis of Ts Eliot's"The Tradition and Individual Talent"

Largely speaking the whole essay is a rebellion against tradition,a rebellion against traditional concept of tradition as well as individuality.Traditionally we think tradition is only the past and whatever is individual must be different from it.But Eliot challenges this view. The traditional view has made tradition a dead thing and individuality an impossibility. But Eliot tells that to be an absolutely new thing is not at all individuality cause no artist no poet has the artistic entity without the presence of the past writers.Past is not dead but it's living by the current of art and to be conscious about present you have to realize the presentness of the past. The present poet's most individual lines are those in which the presence of their ancestors are most noticeable. Thus Eliot relates the past with the present and makes tradition not a matter of only past but of present. He also shows individuality not distant from the tradition rather shows that they are deeply connected. All his endeavor was to show that art especially poetry is a living entity and the poet is a medium or a catalyst.Certainly the emotions and feelings of a poet may be reflected in certain parts of a poem but the intensity of the poem is sth different from the poet's personal feelings. It has its own intensity and own emotion. Not the poet but the poetry that contains the flow of art from past to present. He says that for a true poet poetry is a way of depersonalization, a surrendering of ego.It is an escapism of a man who has real feelings and emotions.
@@[0:[0:9:Mainly this novel is a satire(as swift is known for)In the letter of captain Gulliver to his cousin sympson we find a technique. It is actually the protection of swift. He tries to show that many of the things which Gulliver likely said is wrongly edited by the publisher. The letter is enough to create suspense in the reader to think it as a real story. The first voyage in comparison with the other voyages is much less harsher as far as the intensity of satire is concerned.Cause most of the satires here are allegorical. The satires are ona particular historical figure. There are not much generalizations of satire on mankind. And another reason is the telescopic view of life. After all Lilliputians are six inches tall, not a monster. So suggestive satire on them is not likely to be much bitter,so fearful to us.But the first voyage is not totally devoid generalization of satire.Gulliver is tempted to crush the people(6inches tall)when they are walking beside him.It is a satire on human instinct and its bitter. Then heroes on to satirize the political internal and external problems.Which refers to the historical allegory of England Of contemporary time. The main point which this first voyage suggests is about our view of life.we human beings have limitation and yet we pride with our litte knowledge, wealth and possession. The universe is vast but yet we show in our vain pride our trust. This is wrong conception of life and all the endeavor of swift is to show this trth to the readier.(the details of historical allegory are intentionally avoided)]]
This
is actually a contrastive poem. There are contrasts between city vs.
pastoral, complexity vs. simplification, generalization
vs personification and eternal vs momentary.

In this poem the lost city and the pastoral landscape are demonstratively
depicted. The description of the lost city shows the fascination of the
poet for the past and the description of the landscape is deeply
connected with his love for his beloved. His fascination for the past also
certifies that his final choice that "love is the best" is a conscious
choice and not an impulsive conclusion.

The poem also can be interpreted as a contrast between complexity vs.
simplicity. From the very beginning the old city and the pastoral
landscape are described parallely. The city gradually tends towards the
complexity of human life on the other hand the pastoral landscape
signifies the simple romantic love between the speaker and his
beloved. The city tells about the complexities in human life for shame or
fame.It also indicates human greed. On the other hand the pastoral
landscape tells about the natural love of the speaker.

This poem is also a contrast about generalization and personification. In
the description of the lost city the speaker actually generalizes human
feelings. There is no personal character except the king in the
description of the old city. But the other topic that is the love of the
poet for his beloved is all about the speaker's personal love.

There is also a contrast between eternal and momentary in this
poem.Browning is often called the poet of moment and in this poem the
speaker's final choice shows the superiority of moment over
eternity. The description of the city actually generalizes human passion
and tells about the eternal cycle of time. But the love of the speaker
tells about the intensity of love in a particular time. This creates a
contrast between the eternal and momentary.

The very structure of the poem actually dissolves the distinction between eternity and a particular time.Up to the fourth stanza the last six lines becomes the part of the past and the first six lines becomes the part of the moment.Gradually the description of the past city becomes the description of eternity, the eternal passion of human being. Then the speaker commingle the eternity and the moment by changing the structure several times. Finally by telling "love is the best",he actually dissolves eternity in the moment of love between he and his beloved. The meditative tone of the poem actually makes this merging soothing.

A very important note with a bangla video tutorial. It is a must read for English literature students.

How to mention the name of a text in your answer paper?

Very simple. If it it is published as a book then it must be underlined. Such as "Othello" should be underlined when you will write it in your answer paper. But when it is a part of the published work then it will be in a quotation mark. Generally names of an  essay, poem, short story from a big collection are written within a quotation mark. On the other hand the names of a novel, drama, epic are underlined when they are written in an answer paper.

What is a foil? With Bangla video

Foil is a commonly used term in literature. It means an opposite character which high-lightens or glorifies the character it opposes.

Do you watch Bangla movies? The villain is the foil of the hero.It is  because by the opposition of the characteristics of the villain the hero becomes glorified. It is so simple. Video on this topic is coming soon.

Know metaphor and simile in an easy way with Bangla tutorial video

There are several things
that you must be aware of if you want a really good result in your English literature course.Do you know the difference between a metaphor and a simile? Both these things are terms for expressing comparison between two things.

suppose  you want to compare your girlfriend's beauty with a rose then you can express it in two ways
1.My girlfriend is a red rose

2.My girlfriend is like a red rose

Both these sentences compares your girlfriend with a red rose but the first one is an  example of metaphor and the second one is an example of simile. Why? It is because of the linker. When a linker is(as,like,so etc.)mentioned in the sentence it becomes simile and when it is omitted it becomes metaphor.Very simple.
